Oni Ayhun: OAR003 Vinyl 12"

Oni Ayhun: OAR003 Vinyl 12"

Kool and deadly techno heater back in print! This still sounds just as good as it did when it was released back in 2009. Sure Olof Bjorn Dreijer was killing it with The Knife at the time, but he was releasing timeless material under his Oni Ayhun alias as well. The A side is nice and all, its rolling techno revealing sublime moments as Dreijer works dexterously with tension and release, but it's all about the B side for me. Built on a muscular techno foundation, Dreijer teases in elements of IDM with heavily emotive components. This is supremely uplifting, end of the night material. It feels like it could be a production for The Knife, save for the fact that Dreijer is able to squeeze as many emotions out of his synthesizers as Karin Dreijer Andersson is able to out of her masked voice. Eternal classic, must have. Recommended.
